Original Tote Bag Exhibition：Brooklyn NY

Figureworks is pleased to host this traveling exhibition, which opened this summer in Japan. Guest curated by K. Saito, this exhibition features over 100 ordinary canvas tote bags reborn into one-of-a-kind works of art by artists from around the world. The tote, a humdrum daily use item, is given new life through the vision of these international artists. Ecological friendliness meets bold artistic vision: the tote reborn.

I wanted to send the info for screenings of ‘Rhythmic Uprising’ on this weekend and next in NYC(bear with me for those who’re getting this more than once or twice).
‘Rhythmic Uprising’ is a documentary that shows how community leaders are using vibrant Afro-Brazilian culture to inspire, empower youth in Salvador, Bahia in Brazil. It’s about an hour documentary and there’ll be dialogue with filmmakers and something special for each screening, hope you can make it!
